What's New at the Sewing Room

Every year at Halloween we can count on seeing It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown return to TV. We've loved the characters for generations and made sure that our grandchildren have the DVD will all the Peanuts holiday specials. If you have ever found yourself wanting to yell "Hey you kids! Get off my lawn!" then you probably are already familiar with Maxine, the sassy senior who graces Hallmark cards with her snappy one-liners. Dakota Collectibles has just released a new set of 5 x 7 designs featuring the wit and wisdom of our favorite cranky matron. This collection is $69.95. Because of the size, it will require the B hoop on the 300E, 350E, 9500, 9700, 10000, or 10001. On the 11000 you can use either hoop RE or SQ. MB-4 users can use the M1 hoop. Unfortunately the designs are not usable on the 5000, 5700, 9000, or 200E.

We have a good supply of these CDs on hand. I'll bet you know someone who would really appreciate a gift embroidered with the lady who has been "yelling it like it is" for the past 20 years! 

Janome has seen costs rising rapidly for several years, mostly due to the rising price of oil. It's used to make a lot of the plastic parts in the machines, and also has greatly increased the cost of shipping products. We've received notice that machine prices will be going up on May 1, 2008. If you've been thinking about getting a new machine, the best time is NOW!
