A new machine is coming!
By Diane Stutsman - Wednesday, March 24, 2010 - View Full Newsletter
As we expected, the new Janome model was "outed" on the Internet
yesterday. Janome now realizes they can't keep it completely under wraps
until May 1, so they've released a picture:
You can get more information as Janome releases it on this web page. We will
be getting trained on the machine next month and will have a preview
event on Saturday, May 1. Save the date!

Spring Arrivals
Monday, March 08, 2010 - View Full Newsletter
 After
a long and cold winter, spring is once again in the air. We're more
than ready and while we're waiting for the flowers to pop up, we've got
some new arrivals from Janome to enjoy. We've just received our first
shipment of new models 2160DC and 3160QDC. They have been introduced as
part of Janome's observance of their 150th anniversary. The New Home
Sewing Machine Company started in 1860, which relates to the "60" in the
new model numbers. That also represents the number of stitches on each
of these models. Other great features include 6 levels of pressure
adjustment, full computerization with needle up/down, speed control, and
a very nice LCD screen that is easy to read and navigate. Both of these
models weigh just 12 pounds, the same as the JEM series of ¾ size
machines. However, due to a breakthrough in manufacturing, these models
are FULL size. Both models have a START/STOP button, allowing them to be
used without a foot control.

| Features
| This model is great for home decorating, garment construction,
and craft sewing. The stitch package is appropriate for all types of
sewing. A soft vinyl cover is included.
| Quilters will love this model, which comes with the 1/4" foot,
open toe foot, and extension table packed right in the box. It also
features a built-in thread cutter that can be programmed to snip the
threads at the end of a seam. Hard shell cover included.

There is another new model coming in May, aimed at quilters. Janome is
revealing nothing about this machine, other than the fact that it will
have more features than the 6600P. We will be hosting a "coming out"
party for this model on May 1. Mark your calendars!

By Diane Stutsman - Sunday, November 01, 2009 - View Full Newsletter
UPS has finally delivered the first pieces of the fabulous Minkee prints that we ordered at Market. Here's a small sampling:
No, these are not the only new prints, just a small selection. Don't wait to get yours - they'll go fast!
Perhaps you got an email from Janome about the Professional Quilting Kit 3.0, the upgrade for the 11000. It features a SQUARE AcuQuilt hoop, for blocks up to 7 x 7. In stock now for $299!
Maybe you got an email about this "new" applique foot. We've had it for nearly 10 years in our own packaging, but now it's also in a non-green "blister" pack. In stock now for just $10.
There are still a few openings in Lisa Shaw's Buzz Edit hands-on project class. This will be the last such class this year. If you want to be in on it, call us at 972-315-1489.

October Schedule now online
Thursday, September 17, 2009 - View Full Newsletter
The October, 2009, class schedule is now available on our website. Memory Craft Club members may be disappointed that we are not having a club this month. Unfortunately that weekend is also Quilt Market, and we will be going to Houston to shop for the latest and greatest. Jan and Sharon will be in the store on Saturday the 10th, which would have been club day. If you mention the secret word "Market" to them, they'll give you your club discount even though there is no club!
There are some new accessories coming from Janome. Memory Craft 11000 quilters will be interested in the Professional Quilting Kit, which features a brand new Acufil hoop (ASQ) with a 7" x 7" sewing field. As with the AQ hoop, this one uses magnets to hold the fabric in place. There is also a machine upgrade in the package that provides some requested features. You must either have the Memory Craft 11000 SE, or have upgraded your machine to version 2.0 to use this package. Cost is $299. If this sounds like something Santa should have in the sleigh for you, please let us know. They aren't shipping yet, and it's not clear how many we'll be able to get.
Another new item, which should be in the store by this weekend, is a new 3-in-1 1/4" foot set. It's a clear foot, with all the 1/4" markings you could want. The 1/4" guide on the right is removable, and it comes with another guide that turns it into a "Stitch in the Ditch" foot. If you want one of these feet, be sure to let us know so we can reserve one for you!
